Scuba diving slate
Communicating under the water is a snap with a scuba diving slate. You may not consider this an important piece of equipment, but just try to imagine you wanting to tell someone about some exciting underwater discovery and you will understand why you would want to add a scuba diving slate to you scuba diving checklist. There are several styles of diving slates. Your main concern should be to select a slate that is convenient to carry and that gives you sufficient space to write notes or to communicate a message.
The most common type of scuba diving slate that people use looks a lot like a child's drawing table. You can write your notes or a message and then erase the information simply by sliding a button located on the bottom of the slate. The Innovative Large Quest slate is probably the largest slate you can find. It features a two-sided message board that provides additional space for you to more information.
The Maximum Wrist Dive Slate is worn like a watch and is just as easy to use. The slate has Velcro closures to secure the equipment on your wrist. There is a pencil attached securely to the slate so you don't have to worry about the slate sliding from your arm. The common slates, such as the Innovative Large Quest, cost around $25. The Maximum Wrist Dive Slate is less than $20.
Innovation seems to mean items get smaller in size. The 1st Diving Systems Slate with Clip is even easier to use than the wrist version. You simply hook the slate clip to your belt loop and reach for it when you need it. Innovation often means the price goes up. This is not the case with this product. This scuba diving slate will only set you back about $10.
